How I shone at Aims Games

I shone at Aims Games at our netball final last Friday when I played really hard to make our team win. Aims Games is a national sports event up in Tauranga where year 7 and 8 students from around New-Zealand come to test their skills and compete to see who's the best netball team. I got the opportunity to  compete at Aims Games 2015 with my amazing netball team Jade.

At this game I shone like a shining star. I intercepted the ball as if I was flying in space, feeling so alive and proud as I walked off court. I looked around, everyone is so cheerful ,with a huge smile shaped like a banana. I could hear my team cheering as loud as a lion roaring.

I shone by using my thinking skills; by looking around for who to pass the ball to and who is free or not to pass the ball to. We worked our way down the netball court by trying our best and not getting any contacts or obstructions.

I also shone when I was self managing by always listening to what the coach is saying so when we go back on court we would be able to pick up the game plan very fast and show off our skills that we learnt.

Another way I shone is when we are on court we would show respect to who we are playing against. When the ref says a bad call we will suck it up and still play our game.If we are winning or losing we will not be cocky.

I felt really proud when I shone up at Aims Games because it was a once and a life time chance to represent Corinna school, somewhere far from our homes. It was the most exhilarating moment of my life as if we were to meet the Silver Ferns. We walked home feeling so tired but also feeling like champions, champions never give up but always try there best.
